Committee ME-005-10 is currently working on an extensive revision of the 1994 edition of AS 2550.10, Cranes, hoists and winches-Safe use, Part 10: Elevating work platforms. This revision is taking cognisance of the requirements and format of the current edition of AS 2550.1, Cranes, hoists and winches-Safe use, Part 1: General requirements. The revision will also be addressing concerns raised by the horticultural industry, particularly with regard to the application of the requirements for safety harnesses and major inspections to mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) used in this industry.
