Mounira Khelifi, Amira Zarrouk, Thomas Nury, Habib Hamed, Saad Saguem, Ridha Ben Salah, Jean-Marc Riedinger and Gerard Lizard: "Cytokine and eicosanoid profiles of phosphate mine workers": J. Toxicol. Sri., Vol. 39: No. 3, 465-474. (2014). We have concerns about the above paper, given the plasma level of some inflammatory cytokines in phosphate mine workers versus controls. The authors report that phosphate dusts are able to trigger systemic inflammatory reaction and elevate inflammatory markers. In this regard, we would like to make some comments with respect to the authors' interpretations of inflammatory markers.
