The 2000-2001 Economic Handbook of the Machine Tool Industry is available from AMT-The Association for Manufacturing Technology.The 292-page handbook includes information on the domestic and world machine tool industries; the national and world economies, covering such areas as employment, machine tool shipments, and machine tools in use; and the financial condition of the industry.The handbook, available for a fee to non-AMT members, includes overviews and an explanation of terms. Both product-specific and country-specific data are included, and information about capital equipment purchases is broken out for several major consuming industries.
