You probably recall seeing a tube plating company featured on the cover of the January/February issue of TPJ. Actually, "plating company" doesn't cover it. The company, Lincoln Industries, Lincoln, Neb., specializes in exhaust systems and provides engineering, manufacturing, plating, finishing, assembly, and logistics management. It also takes care of its employees in matters such as safety and training; works in its community to promote manufacturing as a career choice and encourages its employees to get involved in volunteer work; and provides donations to various organizations. For these reasons-and a handful of others-Lincoln received TPJ's 2008 Industry Award. Now we're ready to evaluate tube-and pipemakers and fabricators for the 2009 Industry Award. If you think your company deserves special recognition, let us know. We're looking for companies that, like Lincoln, run a tight ship (in terms of shop floor improvements, safety, and training); raise the bar in the marketplace (by increasing market share or developing new processes or products); and support their communities (by shedding some light on manufacturing careers and participating in other local activities).
