Dow Corning Corporation has developed two additives designed to improve water resistance in decorative paints and coatings. Unlike other silicone-based materials, these new technologies are effective at low use levels. Dow Coming~R 87 Additive and Dow Corning~R 88 Additive improve water resistance for decorative coatings, but are permeable to water vapour coming from the substrate.
