Encouraged by movement on Capitol Hill on ag tax relief and related financial incentives, ag advocates are redoubling their efforts in Washington to ensure the breaks for growers become law--and are fully implemented. Specifically, ag advocates are pushing to have President Clinton sign into law twin bills in the House and Senate that would slowly repeal the estate death tax over time. Plus, they're also working in Congress to approve legislation that would eliminate the current 15.3 percent self-employment tax on Conservation Reserve Payments.
