In order to obtain accumulated dose for ESR dating, the additive dose method is usually used, When samples are irradiated by an a radioactive source in different doses, the ESR signals of some centers of the samples grow up with the increase of irradiation doses until saturation. Models have been suggested and theoretical explanations have been given. They believe that the electrons in crystal are in the valence band under common conditions, With exposure to ionizing radiation, electrons can be transferred from the valence band to the conduction band. These electrons will diffuse within the crystal in a short period until they are trapped at defect centers and form electron centers, and some new hole centers can be simultaneously formed. However, the abnormal response to irradiation dose of E' center of quartz was observed, when we measured the coastal eolian sand samples.
