Leoni Bordnetz-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG has formed a joint venture with Germany's Hella KG Hueck & Co. to develop automotive wiring systems. Leoni Bordnetz-Systeme is a subsidiary of Leoni AG, Nuremberg, Germany. Hella is a manufacturer of automotive light systems. The two companies will each have a 50 percent share in the joint venture, called Inteldis GmbH, which will be based in Wurzburg, Germany, and start with about 50 employees. The goal is to develop and distribute "intelligent" car-harness systems for car manufacturers. Assisted by their parent companies, Inteldis plans to combine optimal wiring and electronics. The partners believe that their combined technology will be able to better meet the needs of auto manufacturers, a group that itself is under tight fiscal concerns.
