Three major North American companies explain why they chose to build new facililities or expand current ones to manufacture in France. France? Why? Reasons Witt differ, but the success of Renault SA and PSA Peugeot Citroen is a principle motor behind much new North American investment. "Even though the French companies are expanding overseas, they keep producing more in France," says Nicholas Mohr, who works for the French investment agency Invest in France. The two companies build about 3.3 million vehicles a year in France, compared with just 2.5 million in 1997.
