Somehow, with six inches of snow on the ground and only the Indocalamus tessellatus looking green and beautiful, I found it difficult to think and write about bamboo this month. As usual, I have been scanning magazines and newspapers, looking for articles about bamboo or new products that incorporate bamboo. There have been several newly designed items that I felt went beyond the usual bamboo motif toothbrush holders we have been seeing! My favorite was a series of tall (12" and 20") recycled aluminum, bamboo-inspired vases from California; however, the prices will keep them out of our house.
