The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) is "Creating New Opportunities the World Economy," according to the theme of its SAMPE 2006 Symposium. Billed as the largest educational event and only trade exhibition devoted entirely to advanced composites, the five-day event (conference, May April 30-May 4; exhibits, May 2-4) is sponsored this year by SAMPE's Los Angeles (Calif.) and Taiwan Chapters and will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center (Long Beach, Calif.). Convention visitors are invited to SAMPE's Welcome Reception, the evening of May 2 in the Convention Center's Grand Ballroom.
