A poly tunnel is the greatest imaginable joy. It is hidden behind a high willow hedge to spare us having to look at it because it is not the most attractive thing, but never mind, the thirty-two foot by fourteen growing space inside is the most valuable bit of ground on the place.As somewhere to shelter from the storm or reap something edible that has not been destroyed by slugs it is in a class of its own. Sadly it is five years old now and beginning to throw out distress signals. The doorframe at one end has pretty much collapsed and there are rents in the plastic that may grow larger in a big gale. That said, it is in a sheltered position and continues to withstand extreme weather robustly.
