Torsion of bars has always been an important topic in the mechanics of solids. The solutions of the torsion problem for homogeneous bars of various cross sections have been reviewed by several sources , The foundation for the torsion of compound bars was laid by MUSKHELISHVILI, where the explicit solution of the torsion of a bi-material rectangular bar was given. However, the literature on the analytical treatment of the torsion of composite bars are still relatively scarce, in spite of its importance to the design of modern structural members . In the present paper we investigate the torsion of a tube whose wall is composed of two materials periodically laminated and bonded longitudinally.
