摘要

An initial value problem is solved for the unsteady motion of an incompressible viscous fluid with embedded small spherical inert particles between two rigid non-conducting plates in the presence of an external magnetic field acting transversely to the plates. The flow is generated from rest in the fluid-particle system due to pulsatile motion of the upper plate in its own plane while the lower plate is held fixed. It is assumed that no external electric field is imposed on the system and the magnetic Reynolds number is very small. Exact solutions are obtained for the fluid and the particle velocities and the skin-frictions on the walls by using the operational methods. Solutions are investigated numerically with graphical presentations. The simultaneous effects of the particles and the magnetic field on the flow are discussed.
