The agricultural utilization of sewage sludge, compost and organic fertilizers is determined by the nutrient and pollutant load related with the applied amount. The study presents an overview of the amount and qualilty of sewage sludge, biocompost, slurry and manure. Based on the nutrient and pollutant balance, some basic principles for the ecologically sound application are developed.
