The N-mineralization was investigated after application of biowaste compost with different maturity degree on soils. Soil substrates of a cambisol, a luvisol and a recultivated mine spoil were added with 65 t ha~(-1) of a mature and with 70 t ha~(-l) of a fresh compost for an incubation time of 552 days by a temperature of 5 and 14 deg C. The N-mineralization increased after the amendment of compost on soils. 5-7% N was released in all mixtures of soil with compost. The different maturity degree of the composts did not influenced the amount of mineralization. The sandy substrat of the recultivated soil shows the highest N-mineralization. Dependent on the maturity degree and the soil substrates there was a different nitrogen dynamic during incubation time.
