摘要

Source materials for the production of compost were devided into fractions (e.g. fruit-, root vegetables, fruits, foliage, bush) and explored with regard to their heavy metal contents. For some heavy metals higher concentrations has been found; these could not be led back however to individual fractions, so that the origin of these heavy metals could not be determined on individual inputmaterials. For instance increased zinc-and copper concentrations have been found in almost all fractions, so that no individual ingredients can be held responsible for these increased concentrations. For the fraction "root-vegetables" could be associated increased cadmium contents with individual kinds of vegetables. These kinds of vegetables (e.g. celery) have for cadmium an especially high transfer-factor, that means, they can take up this heavy metal especially well. Comparing the kitchens- with greenwastes confirmed that the higher heavy metal contents in kitchen wastes depend on higher quantities of pollutants ("Storstoffe").
