"Aww, this stuff is so boring! There's no fun in science," moans Bud Adams, the Ail-American boy in Adventures in Science, a 1958 promotional comic book made for the A. C. Gilbert Company. On a trip to New York City, Bud's engineer father has dragged him to the Gilbert Hall of Science, the grand Fifth Avenue showroom for the company's American Flyer model trains, Erector construction sets, telescopes, chemistry sets, and more.
