摘要

The recruitment of P. monodon into fishery of Chilika Lake has been studied using FiSAT.software package. A year round recruitment is recorded varying from 2.9% to 18.8% in 2005 and 0.3% to 14.0% in 2006 showing peaks during May- June without significant difference between the years as well as in months. The recruitment pattern in 2006 was more uniform than 2005. The seasonal oscillation of growth (C) was found to be strong and significant (C < 0.9). The study suggests to use multiple size of gill nets in the lake and to avoid smaller size (10 mm) gill nets particularly during May- June so as to maintain a uniform pattern throughout the year.
