摘要

Nagauri pan methi [Trigonella corniculata (L.) L.] commonly known as "Kasuri methi" or "Champa methi" is an important species of fenugreek. It is famous for its aroma and flavour in dry leaves (pan) and generally used in dal, kaddi and potato vegetable to develop specific taste and flavour. The Nagauri pan methi is area bound crop and cultivated in the surrounding area of Nagaur city specially in the "Suhalak" area of Nagaur district due to aroma development. Its dry leaves have higher market price.Moreover, methi performs well under saline soil also where no other grain legumes are profitably grown (1). Therefore, farmers prefer to include this crop in their cropping system. Phosphorus and sulphur fertilization are essentially needed for normal growth and development of the plants due to their vital role in chlorophyll synthesis and involvement in various physiological and metabolic processes of the plant. Therefore, a field study was undertaken to find out suitable dose of phosphorus and sulphur for increasing the yield of Nagauri pan methi.
