摘要

Economic analysis of both the enterprises of dairy and goat keeping adopted by SHG members shows that both the units even with one buffalo and six goats were profitable. Nationalized bank was the main source for SHG members to borrow loans to start enterprises. Un-availability of subsides on bank loan, lack of basic infrastructure! facilities and illiteracy were the major constraints in runnlhg the SHGs. High rates of animal feeds and lack of irrigation facilities to cultivate green fodder were the major constraints in running the enterprises. Bankers did not take much interest to bank with the poor as it does not provide any decent profit.
