A 19-year-old man presented with a slowly growing mass in the palm of the nondomi-nant hand. As it grew it became progressively more painful and bothersome with increasing tenderness on palpation. Initial imaging studies, including radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), were inconclusive, suggesting that the mass might be cystic.Radiographs were normal (not shown). A repeat MRI was obtained and performed with and without contrast enhancement at 3T. Precontrast images showed a well-circumscribed, ovoid mass in the third web space that was low in signal on Tl -weighted imaging and displaced the flexor tendons of the hand (Figure 1A).
