This article described the synthesis of poly N-arylmaleimides and copolymaleimides.The maleimides monomer N-(2-nitrophenyI)maleimide (2-NPMI),N-(3-nitrophenyI)maleimide (3-NPMI) and N-(4-nitrophenyl)maIeimide (4-NPMI) were prepared from corresponding substituted nitro aniline.The homopolymerization of above three maleimides monomer were initiated by free radical using AIBN in THF solvent at 65 ~(deg)C.The monomer aiso copolymerized with MMA free radically in THF using equimolar amount of the comonomers.All the polymer samples have been characterizedby the solubility,intrinsic viscosity,FT-IR and ~1H NMR spectral analysis and thermo gravimetric analysis.
