Welcome. In this issue are articles of interest to all. On atechnical side, there is an excellent article on magnetic sliderules by Peter Holland and electrical engineering slide rulesby Richard Smith Hughes. On a mathematical side, we havearticles by Curtis Jones on log-log exponential decay, and onsquare root of ten-fold slide rules by Marion Moon. Articleson the current younger generation and slide rules by MichaelKonshak, Clay Castleberry and Bryan Purcell are worthwhileto read, showing you how the Society is trying to get stu-dents and people involved in thinking about slide rules. Forexotic and specialty rules, there is an excellent article onBakelite slide rules by David Rance and one by WernerRudowski. Additionally, there is a wonderful article on theDempster RotaRule by Richard Davis. John Mosand does anarticle on the Aristo 920 Federfix. Peter Holland also has anarticle on Faber and Dietzgen rules. Those of you interestedin antique slide rules will like the article by Marc Thomas onan early Lenoir rule, and also Otto van Poelje's article on theAyres slide rule.
