As it currently operates in the area of oromotion, the agency acts as a 'resource centre", helping others to develop promotion campaigns and circulating positive and educational information on coffee, invariably, today, using the Internet. This, for instance, is how it is disseminating its step-by-step guide to promoting coffee consumption in exporting countries, which was drawn up at a cost of just under US$300,000 in 2005. It can be downloaded free from the ICO's website and is already being used in several countries, among them El Salvador, India, Indonesia and Mexico, with reportedly "positive results".
