摘要

Electromagnetic method is often used in order tomonitor the thickness of thermal spray coating which is covered onthe materials such as boiler tube for prevention ofcorrosion/erosion wear. Ni-Cr based self-fusing alloy apraycoating can be measured by this method due to little ferrouscharacteristic. But it was found that this magnetic property waseasily changed under high temperature environment, and increasingmagnetic property resulted much underestimating of coatingthickness. It was evident that this increase of magneticcharacteristic was caused by increase of high Ni concentrationparts during high temperature aging. This trend depended on thekind of spray powder, and the spray layer which had highermagnetic property at the beginnig showed that the high tempertureaging led more increasing of magnetic property.It was concluded that the selection of spray powder was muchimportant for quality control of Ni-Cr based self-fusing alloy spraycoating using electromagetic thikcness tester.
