摘要

This research discusses a manufacturing support system for small and medium-sized enterprises. This paper describes a remote monitoring and management system as one component of a manufacturing support system. A prototype of a load balancing system based on the remote monitoring system using PSLX (Planning and Scheduling Language on XML based representation) and ASP (Application Service Provider), which is a sub-system of the remote monitoring and management system was built and tested and is discussed. The subject of this research is small and medium-sized enterprises. Small and medium-sized enterprises often undertake production in which the number of orders and the types of products fluctuate significantly. For adapting the type of production, the proposed manufacturing support system has a transfer machine as a manufacturing environment which makes allows manual-operated processes to coexist with automated processes. A communication environment for multi-vendor manufacturing systems is also available. The goal of the research is to construct a remote monitoring and management system and maintenance system for supporting manufacturing systems which have these environments for small and medium-sized enterprises.
