Forecast International projects defense departments worldwide to buy some 14 Erieye systems over the next 10 years; In 2004, look for Ericsson to deliver one Erieye system to the Mexican Air Force; Expect Erieye deliveries to Greece to be completed sometime in 2006. Erieye is an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) system manufactured by Ericsson Microwave Systems. The foundation of the system is active phased-array pulse-Doppler radar. Erieye meets full AEW&C requirements for detecting and tracking targets at ranges of up to 450 kilometers over land or water.
