摘要

To clarify the effects of diameter and length of abrasive nozzle on perforation performance for steel casing, laboratory perforation tests using a submerged abrasive waterjets system were conducted under high ambient pressures of up to 2 MPa. Main results obtained in this study can be summarized as follows: (1) The mass loss of the abrasive nozzle and the abrasive nozzle diameter increases approximately linearly with the mass of abrasives that passed through the abrasive nozzle. (2) The depth of cut normalized by the mass of abrasives required for perforation decreases with both the diameter and length of the abrasive nozzle regardless of ambient pressure. (3) The depth of cut normalized by the mass of abrasives required for perforation decreases with ambient pressure regardless of both the diameter and length of the abrasive nozzle. Thus, fundamental configurations of abrasive nozzle were determined to obtain a good performance.
