Petrovietnam said Wednesday that Vietsovpetro is expected to produce 6.4 million tons (128,500 b/d) of crude oil this year, roughly unchanged from last year’s output. Vietsovpetro — owned 49% by Petrovietnam and 51% by Russia’s JSC Zarubezhneft — produced 6.31 million tons in the year to Dec. 27. The firm, which produces Vietnam’s flagship Bach Ho crude from the Cuu Long Basin, is targeting production of 6.14 million tons in 2012.
