Lithuania has asked a district court in Vilnius, the capital, to dismiss the top management of biggest local gas utility, Li-etuvos Dujos (LD), amid a dispute over gas prices. Roughly 80% of LD is owned by Gazprom and Germany's E.On Ruhrgas, with the rest held by the Lithuanian government. The energy ministry asked the court to investigate whether LD provides competitive pricing, given that Gazprom deputy chief executive Valery Golubev is among its managers, and to determine whether it is acting in the best interests of Lithuanian consumers.
