Japan's Cosmo Oil has bought around 1.2 million bbl of crude from Saudi Aramco's Okinawa oil storage facility -- the first time a Japanese refiner has bought crude from that facility, according to a Japanese source familiar with the situation. The spot cargo would be delivered in mid-May and would be priced at the Saudi formula price for term cargoes to Asia, the source said, adding that the purchase was prompted by delays to around 1.2 million bbl of spot crude that Cosmo had been expecting (IOD Apr.9'12).
