Ukrainian state Naftogaz has chosen Baker Tilly Ukraine as the auditor to carry out the crucial task of putting a value on its prized gas-transit system that carries the bulk of Europe-bound Russian gas. Naftogaz said its tender committee had given Baker Tilly the most points when weighing up the three remaining bids, but did not elaborate. The winning candidate had offered the lowest price for the job -- 4.1 million hryvnia ($511,000) -- and held off competition from Duff & Phelps and Ernst & Young to land the contract (IOD Mar.27'12).
