Mexican state oil company Pemex has announced plans to build an LNG liquefaction facility on the country's Pacific coast in order to export LNG to Asia. The company says the new terminal could export its first cargo in 2021. The proposed terminal would be connected by pipeline to gas fields in the southern Gulf of Mexico, where over 80% of Mexican gas production is concentrated.
