Statoil said on Monday that production remains shuttered at the Statfjord A platform in the Norwegian North Sea after a fire on Sunday that also led to the evacuation of some personnel. Statfjord A was shut down and 20 out of 67 workers on board were evacuated to Statfjord B after the platform manager reported smoke and fire in a utility shaft early Sunday morning. There were no injuries as a result of the incident and at 11:00 a.m. CET the platform manager announced that the fire had been extinguished.
