The Woodlands— Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. has approved construction of "the world's largest 6n-purpose 1-hexene plant" at its Cedar Bayou complex in Baytown, Texas. Construction on the 250,000-t/y 1-hexene facility is due to begin during the first half of this year, with production expected in the first quarter of 2014.
