Los Angeles— Rentech has entered into a definitive agreement with Sunshine Kaidi New Energy Group to sell its alternative energy technologies and a decommissioned product demonstration unit in Commerce City, Co. Kaidi will make an initial cash payment to Rentech of $15.3-million, with the possibility of Rentech receiving up to $16.2-million in subsequent success payments. The success payments will be based on the performance of the technologies upon the successful construction and operation by Kaidi of a new demonstration-scale plant in Wuhan, China. Kaidi will relocate the PDU equipment purchased from Rentech to the new plant.
