摘要

The influence of the molar mass of a carrier gas on the formation of nanoparticles in the vapor phaseis investigated. The function of the carrier gas atmosphere is the regulation of the particletemperature by collisions with the cluster surface. The aim of this work is to optimize the carrier gasin a simulation in order to mimic a large amount of carrier gas atoms by few gas atoms witheffective parameters. In this context the efficiency of the heat exchange with the carrier gasdepending on its molar mass is analyzed. As a result one finds for varying molar masses andunchanged interaction parameters a competition between the efficiency and the number of thecollisions. For too small molar masses the energy exchange per collision is too small while for toohigh masses the carrier gas atoms become very slow, decreasing the number of collisions.
