Longs producer General Steel says it is pressing ahead with non-steel ventures as the hard times in China's steel industry are continuing.It has formed a radio frequency identification joint venture (CRU Steel Views 2 April 2015), which has received very positive feedback to date, said chairman and CEO Henry Yu. Deployment and commercialisation will take place this year and the company is confident that the transformed business will drive greater synergies and efficiency enhancements.
