Equinor has inked a preliminary deal with Argentina’s state-run YPF, the country’s largest oil producer, to jointly explore the offshore CAN 100 Block in the North Argentine Basin. The agreement, signed at Equinor’s head office in Oslo, sets out the terms for YPF to transfer 50% of its share in the frontier tract to the Norwegian major. The latter said it would “enable both companies to expand their alliance and move forward with the exploration process in the Argentinean offshore."
