Market forces and the ongoing threat from the coronavirus pandemic should encourage Opec- plus members to post high rates of compliance with their May production targets, sources close to Opec told Energy Intelligence on Monday. Opec-plus production cuts of 9.7 million barrels per day — far greater than any previous coordinated supply management effort — took effect on May 1. They are set to run through the end of June, with cuts continuing at lower levels after that.
