Exxon Mobil boosted its proved reserves by more than 13% in 2017 from a wide variety of projects after struggling the past two years to add oil and gas reserves to its books. The US supermajor added 2.7 billion barrels oil equivalent last year, boosting its proved reserves to 21.2 billion boe from 19.97 billion boe at year-end 2016, and replacing 183% of its production. The 21.2 billion total is split 57% to 43% between liquids and natural gas and accounts for a reserve life of about 14 years at current production rates.
