Venezuela has signed a debt restructuring deal with key ally Russia, as the Opec producer struggles to avoid a full-scale default on its bond payments. The settlement, which was confirmed Wednesday by the Russian finance ministry, extends the deadline for Venezuela to repay $2.8 billion, plus interest, until 2027, although some minor payments will need to be made within six years.
