摘要

This paper describes the effects of climate change (e.g. global warming, increasing rainfall and precipitation, and deacreasing snowfall) on apple production in Himachal Pradesh, India. These include: (i) shifting of apple cultivation from lower elevations to higher altitudes, (ii) shift in cropping pattern from apple to pomegranate and vegetable cultivation, and (iii) aggravation of infestation of some diseases and pests, which resulted in yield losses and fruit quality decline. Farmers perceptions on such changes are mentioned.
