摘要

Most people become overweight or obese following several years of calorie excess. The ideal thing to do would be prevent weight gain. However, this presents logistical challenges that often span the generational divide. Tate et al. Draw attention to a well recognized, but simple approach to a modest reduction in weight loss. They demonstrated in a single-blind randomized trial that substituting drinks sweetened with sugar, juice, juice drinks, sweetened coffee and tea, sweetened milk, sports drinks, and alcohol with diet drinks or water resulted in a 2-2.5% weight loss.
