This paper investigated the performance of parallel-type coherent multi-stage interference canceller (COMSIC) with iterative channel estimation using multiple antenna (6-antenna) reception in DS-CDMA reverse link by computer simulation. The computer simulation results showed that the 2-blockwise antenna configuration with large separation (small fading correlation between blocks), each block having 3-antenna with small antenna separation (large fading correlation) (hereafter denoted as (3+3)) can decrease the required transmit E{sub}b/N{sub}0 owing to the improved space diversity effect and channel estimation. It was also shown that the required transmit E{sub}b/N{sub}0 at the average BER of 10{sub}-3 with parallel-type COMSIC using (3+3)-antenna reception could be decreased by approximately 5.3 (5.7) dB compared to the case using 2-branch antenna diversity reception when the number of the multipaths was L=2(3) and that of the active users was K=20.
