British Potato 2003 takes place on 3 and 4 September at the Newark showground. Julian Gairdner looks ahead to what will make the headlines this year. Growers stand to be disadvantaged by losing irrigation rights unless they get up to speed with impending water legislation. That's the stark but important message that the BPC's Rob Clayton will be driving home in the Blight and Water Zone at this year's British Potato event. "The industry has to be clear about how valuable the availability of water is," he says.
