Novel Biogenic Metal Nanoparticles for Pharmaceutical Applications

摘要

Due to the unique biological, optical, chemical properties of metal nanoparticles, these materials have applications in drug and gene delivery. In this review, we provide an overview of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) preparation by green synthesis approaches that have advantages over conventional methods involving chemical agents associated with environmental toxicity. The antimicrobial properties of MNPs also important, as several pathogenic bacteria have developed resistance against various antibiotics. Here we described various antimicrobial mechanisms of MNPs to reduce the antibiotic resistance and incorporation of MNPs on cotton fabrics and conjugation of MNPs on pharmaceutical compounds. Finally, we discussed site-specific, drug delivery applications of MNPs due to its unique surface modification, photo-thermal properties.
