Sixty years ago, termite management techniques had progressed from nothing, through to physical barriers and building isolation practices. The application of chemical treatments to both building materials and building sites had just begun with the release of the organo-chlorines. These emerging chemicals were found to provide long term termiticidal benefits and they became the main method of supporting physical barriers.
