South African table grapes have seen a dramatic increase in sales in Canada over the past five years. Leading exporters now say the Canadian market is responding to consistent work on building relations between South African growers and the North American country's trade. Since the 2015/16 season, sales of South African table grapes have increased by more than 400 per cent - from a mere 1.025m cartons to 4.2m cartons. Canada is now the third biggest receiver of South African grapes, following the European Union and the UK.
